Sustrans Wayfinding Strategy
Client: Sustrans and Applied Information Group
Project : Wayfinding and Information Strategy for the National Cycle Network
Background
The National Cycle Network lacks a single wayfinding approach for the 13,000 miles of the route in the UK. The remit was to develop a strategy and approach to fix this.
Our Role
We supported the main agency, Applied Information Group, to develop the strategy and implementation of the plan.
Step one: We conducted research and fact-finding to understand the current state of wayfinding on the network. This also involved consulting with a wide range of external stakeholders who form part of network.
Step two: From this we supported the development of a wayfinding strategy for the National Cycle Network that Sustrans could use to influence and align with a range of organisations in government, local authorities and other agencies.
